Emergency dental care

Emergency Dentist Near Lakeview & Mineola, Mississauga

If you live in Lakeview or Mineola and have a dental emergency, call Clarkson Village Dental at (905) 855-2622 before you set out. We are one office, at 1098 Clarkson Road North in Clarkson Village, west of both neighbourhoods. Call as early in the day as you can, Monday to Friday, and we will do our best to see you the same day.

Call first, then decide whether to make the trip

Lakeview and Mineola are further east than Lorne Park or Port Credit, and we have no second office in either neighbourhood. That makes the phone call the most useful first step. Tell the front desk what is happening and they can hold an urgent slot, have your details ready and tell you what to do on the way.

Hours: Mon 8:00–5:00 · Tue 8:00–6:00 · Wed 8:00–5:00 · Thu 9:00–6:00 · Fri 8:00–3:00. Saturdays by appointment only. You do not need to be an existing patient, and there is no referral to arrange.

Getting here from Lakeview or Mineola

  • By car: follow Lakeshore Road west through Port Credit and Lorne Park to Clarkson, or take the QEW. Parking is close to the entrance.
  • By GO train: Port Credit GO is on the Lakeshore West line, and Clarkson GO is the next stop west. Our office is a few minutes from Clarkson GO station.
  • Getting in: a ramp runs up to the entrance. The door is not automatic, so call ahead if you would like someone to meet you and hold it open.

What to do on the way

If a permanent tooth has been knocked out, time matters most. Hold it by the crown, not the root. If it is dirty, rinse it for a few seconds in milk or clean water, and do not scrub it. Try to slot it back into the socket and bite softly on a clean cloth; if you cannot, carry it in a small container of milk. Call (905) 855-2622 as you leave so we are ready for you.

For a broken or chipped tooth, bring any pieces with you, rinse with warm water, and hold a cold compress on the cheek. For a toothache that is not easing, rinse with warm salt water and take over-the-counter pain relief as directed on the packet. For a lost crown, keep it; often it can be re-cemented.

When to go to hospital instead

Swelling that is spreading toward the eye or neck, fever alongside mouth pain, trouble breathing or swallowing, or a serious facial injury is a medical emergency. Call 9-1-1 or go to your nearest hospital emergency department, then phone us so we can plan your dental follow-up.

After hours, calls to our number reach an automated assistant that takes a message so the office can call you back. It is not a person and cannot give dental or medical advice, so do not wait on a callback if symptoms are serious.

Seen by the dentist who knows you

Dr. Ravi has owned the practice since 2015 and sees every emergency patient himself. He explains what he finds and sets out your options, with a clear estimate, before any treatment begins. We directly bill most dental insurance plans and accept the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP).

For regular family care, see our Lakeview & Mineola dentist page. The main emergency dental care page has first-aid steps for every kind of dental emergency.

Common questions

Questions answered.

Is there an emergency dentist near Lakeview, Mississauga?
Clarkson Village Dental has one office, at 1098 Clarkson Road North in Clarkson Village, west of Lakeview and Mineola. Call (905) 855-2622 as early in the day as you can, Monday to Friday, and we will do our best to see you the same day.
Should I call before driving over from Lakeview or Mineola?
Yes. A call lets us hold an urgent slot and have your details ready, and we can tell you what to do on the way.
My tooth was knocked out. What should I do?
Pick it up by the crown, rinse it briefly in milk or clean water if it is dirty, and try to put it back in the socket. If you cannot, keep it in milk. Call (905) 855-2622 straight away, because a knocked-out permanent tooth is most likely to be saved when it is re-seated quickly.
What if I need help after hours?
Our after-hours line takes a message for a callback but cannot give advice. For spreading swelling, fever, trouble breathing or swallowing, or a serious facial injury, call 9-1-1 or go to your nearest hospital emergency department.
Do you see new patients for emergencies, and do you accept CDCP?
Yes to both. You do not need to be an existing patient. We directly bill most dental insurance plans and accept the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP); what is covered depends on your plan, and you will get a clear estimate before treatment starts.
