Dental implants in Clarkson Village

If you're missing a tooth, or several, and you live in or near Clarkson Village, you don't have to travel far to talk about dental implants. Clarkson Village Dental Clinic is at 1098 Clarkson Road North, and Dr. Ravi plans, places, and restores implants in-house. You see the same dentist from the first consultation to the day your new tooth is in place. We'll walk you through it before anything begins, and no question is too small.

What a dental implant is

A dental implant replaces a missing tooth from the root up. A small titanium post takes the place of the natural root and is placed in the jawbone, where it slowly bonds with the bone over the following months. Once it has healed, a custom crown, made to match your other teeth in shape, size, and colour, is attached to it with a small connector called an abutment.

You brush and floss it the way you would a natural tooth. Because the post is anchored in bone, it holds up to everyday chewing and speaking, and with good daily care and regular checkups an implant is designed to last for years.

Who implants can help

The right option depends on how many teeth are involved and the health of the bone and gums underneath. At a first consultation Dr. Ravi looks at all of it and gives you an honest read on whether an implant fits your situation or whether another option would serve you better. Implants are often considered if you:

  • have one missing tooth and want to replace it without altering the healthy teeth beside it
  • are missing several teeth in a row and want a fixed replacement rather than a removable one
  • wear a denture that feels loose and want implants to hold it more securely (see also dentures)
  • have a tooth that cannot be saved and are weighing what comes next

If bone has been lost where a tooth has been missing for a while, Dr. Ravi will explain what groundwork is needed before placement.

The process, step by step

1. Consultation and planning. Dr. Ravi examines the area, reviews your health history, and uses 3D dental imaging to see the bone and nerves in detail. You leave knowing the steps and the timeline.

2. Placement. The titanium post is placed with local anaesthetic so the area is numb. If you feel anxious, or the surgery is longer, an IV sedation option is available to help you stay calmer and more at ease.

3. Healing. Over the next few months the post fuses with the bone. This cannot be rushed, and it is what makes the result stable. Where it suits your case, a temporary tooth can often be arranged in the meantime.

4. The final restoration. Dr. Ravi fits the custom crown, bridge, or denture attachment and adjusts the bite and fit until it feels right.

Close to home, with one dentist throughout

Implant care is spread over several months, so having the practice nearby makes the visits easier to fit into your week. Because Dr. Ravi handles planning, placement, and the final restoration himself, your records and your plan stay in one place, and if a question comes up later, the person answering it is the person who did the work. You can read more about him on our team page.

We welcome patients from Clarkson, Lorne Park, and across south-west Mississauga. For the wider picture, see our page on dental implants in Mississauga.

Cost, insurance and the CDCP

What an implant costs depends on how many you need, whether any preparatory work is involved, and the type of restoration on top. After your consultation, Dr. Ravi gives you a clear written estimate broken down by stage, so you know the costs up front. The Ontario Dental Association publishes an annual Suggested Fee Guide that dentists across the province use as a reference.

Many dental plans provide some coverage for implants, though it varies a great deal and major treatment often needs preauthorization. We direct-bill most insurers and will help you understand your plan before you commit. We also accept the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP); check your eligibility at canada.ca, as coverage depends on your eligibility and the treatment. New to the practice? See our new patients page.

Common questions

Questions answered.

Do you place dental implants in Clarkson Village?
Yes. Dr. Ravi plans, places, and restores dental implants in-house at Clarkson Village Dental Clinic, 1098 Clarkson Road North, so you see the same dentist from consultation to final crown.
Am I a candidate for a dental implant?
Many people are, but it depends on how many teeth are involved, your gum health, and the bone available to support the implant. Some patients need preparatory work first. A consultation with Dr. Ravi gives you an honest recommendation.
How long does the implant process take?
Usually several months from placement to final crown, because the implant needs time to fuse with the bone. Much of that time is waiting between short appointments. We give you a realistic timeline at your consultation.
Is getting an implant painful?
Placement is done with local anaesthetic so the area is numb. For anxious patients or longer surgery, an IV sedation option is available to help you stay calmer and more at ease. Dr. Ravi explains how he keeps you comfortable at each step.
Does insurance or the CDCP cover dental implants?
Many plans offer some coverage, but the amount varies and major treatment often needs preauthorization. We accept the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP); check your eligibility at canada.ca. We go over your coverage and include it in your written estimate.
Do dental implants last?
An implant is a long-term option, designed to last for years with good daily care and regular checkups. Dr. Ravi will show you how to look after it and monitor it at your visits.
